Ken Mann is an experienced change agent who does speaking and coaching for companies wishing to improve the work lives and productivity of their employees. Despite Ken's years of successful practice, he was a relative newcomer to the web and had no prior branding.
The challenge was to incorporate the off-beat comedy and friendly, approachable attitude Ken infuses into his speaking while presenting a very professional services. Additionally the project would be Ken's public launch, introducing him to a new market.
We worked with Ken to produce a logo system that allowed for promotion of Ken Mann as a brand and his coaching method which he calls Transformology. The logo work melded the retro aesthetic of the website design with Ken's casual demeanor through use of a custom font-face we designed for the purpose. For the website we designed a one-page introduction with a static top navigation that moved in tandem with the page's scroll position. This served the purpose of acting as a visual reference for the user while providing a visual clue for users who hadn't discovered the page's scroll animation.
Technology choices for the website hinged on Ken's need for a clean and simple system for adding and editing pages as well as a blog. We designed a custom theme built on top of Wordpress using a unique page design for the homepage and a persistent template for the blog and other pages.
